Kampung Tambirat, Asajaya, SARAWAK

First of all I would like to address my warmest greeting to my beloved family and friends due to their help and support in this writing. Kampung Tambirat was my birth place. A sub-urban village that situated in Asajaya District under the territory State of Sarawak, East MALAYSIA. A piece and calm village better known as "Kampung Nelayan" which means the place where we could find a lot of fresh fish. Beside, this village was near to the South China Sea. Thefore we could see many houses laid along the river bank.

The main income of the villager was fishing. My father was one of the fisherman since 30 years ago. As I am not interested in that kind of job, I rather liked to be a teacher. But one of my siblings like to go fishing and making a boat. My third brother interested in fishing of course enherit my father's job because he always accopanied him to catch fish. We used to have a big boat that made by my father himself. He was famous among the villagers when came to boat making. During his glorious year, he made of 6 boat in a year. Quiet remarkable person in making boat fast and durable.

Today, there are plenty of boat maker left to continue their interest in boat making. No other young person involve in boat making. Maybe, due the time factor most of the teenager and young adult occupy a better job in the city. Beside, boat making need a hardwork and creative person to do that kind of job.
